FirstLight Trust offers charity jobs and volunteering opportunities to help our veterans.
Together we make up a great team to support those former members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services who have nowhere to turn. Our team is made up of support workers, activity coordinators, plus those raising money through our charity shops and charity cafes.

Current opportunities in Scarborough: Hub Coordinator (Full time, permanent)

We are excited to be shortly moving to a bigger Hub in Scarborough. We are looking for a Hub Coordinator to ensure the smooth running of our Hub and run Sharpe’s Café.
What we do in a nutshell
FirstLight Trust was set up to support those veterans from the armed and emergency services who have nowhere to turn. We break down barriers to ensure veterans and their families get the support they need. The retail activity in our Hubs helps us to fund the work we do with veterans and therefore it is very important we get it right.
What type of person are we looking for?
We are looking for a Hub Coordinator with personality, common sense, a good sense of humour and the ability to make things happen. We need an individual who cares but can also have fun.
You will have the ability and experience to motivate a team to deliver a vibrant welcoming atmosphere. You will be an excellent people manager with a can-do attitude. You will also understand the problems veterans may encounter. You must be able to think on your feet and definitely have a creative approach.
You must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle as there will be some covering of other sites as and when required. This is not anticipated to be on a regular basis.
What will the role involve?
You will be an Ambassador for FirstLight Trust. You will coordinate the operations of Sharpe’s Café ensuring we serve great coffee and delicious homemade cakes. You will be responsible for driving sales whilst ensuring our veteran ethos shines through. Ensuring excellent customer service is delivered and that standards are met. An important part of the role is ensuring your team are fully supported and can reach their potential.
Part of the role will also be supporting veterans to volunteer within our Hub and ensuring they are fully supported in terms of developing skills which may lead to employment. This could be from supporting to bake cakes or developing their customer service skills within our Hub through to making coffees and engaging with our customers.

A great place to work
A Manager who supports you to do your job
An extra days’ holiday with pay on your birthday
