The FirstLight Trust is a grass-roots, community-based charity which assists often 'hard to reach' veterans from any service or any conflict who, for one reason or another have so far fallen through the “net”, or indeed may have ended up on the streets. Those who don't know where to turn, where to go or what to do, who feel that they have been rejected or have exhausted all other avenues. They may just feel too proud or confused to ask for help.
Our aim is to give physical, emotional and psychological aid however that works: it might be accessing housing, helping deal with depression and/or any form of post-traumatic stress disorder, providing vocational courses or simply a place to drop in for a brew and a chat. Our aim is to support them back into the community and a better life.
- If you know someone who is leaving any of the Armed Services or Emergency Services who wants someone to talk to, or doesn’t know where to go or what to do – contact us
- If you know a veteran whose fallen on hard times who needs help –
'It is easy to get help, not so easy to get the right help.
Part of FirstLight is about helping others to help
themselves, and others, team work and openness
is what FirstLight is about. A real charity with people
in mind, not profit. Thanks'.
