OUR CAUSES
Supporting mental wellbeing
Poor mental wellbeing can make it difficult to cope with daily life. Many veterans experience mental wellbeing problems after they leave the services and move into civilian life. FirstLight Trust provides the right support in the right place at the right times.
Preventing homelessness
The cause of homelessness is often “invisible” with many veterans becoming homeless due to debt, relationship breakdowns, unemployment, ill-health or lack of affordable housing. The preventative work we do around these issues is effective and long-term.
Ending isolation & loneliness
Many veterans feel socially isolated, alone and misunderstood. Something that has become worse in the last 18 months. FirstLight Trust Café Hubs provide a safe space in which to make friends with those in their communities. The Café Hubs enable new and lifelong friendships.
