Volunteer

Our vital volunteers

Our volunteers are essential in helping us support former members of the armed forces and emergency services who have nowhere to turn.

Our team is made up of support workers, activity coordinators, plus those raising money through our charity shops and charity cafés.

Why volunteer?

We run a well organised and immensely enjoyable volunteer programme. If you like the idea of:

  • being part of a team working to make a real difference to veterans’ lives
  • Learning new skills or use existing ones
  • Meeting new people

then please get in touch!

How long does it take?

We’re enormously grateful for any time you can give us. You can contribute in a way that fits around your other commitments. Every role is valued, from trustee to admin support, shop assistant to one-off fundraising project manager.

Where do your talents lie?

Do you want to give something back to help those that have given for us? Wherever your talents lie, FirstLight will put them to good use.

We will clearly define your role and work with you to use your talents to help our veterans and colleagues. We will make sure you know what to expect from us. In return you will receive help, support and a hugely rewarding experience.
